INCOME TAX PLANNING AND ANALYSIS

Examples of income tax planning would include:
- Advising clients on a broad-range of personal income tax issues
- Considering income tax issues in the context of trust and estate administrations
- Advising clients on tax issues regarding charitable organizations, including funding and operational issues
- Assisting clients involved in litigation settlements and/or divorce settlements on tax planning opportunities
- Counseling clients on the tax aspects of business planning and transactions, including pre-incorporation planning Advising clients regarding subchapter S elections and subchapter S corporate operations
- Counseling as to like-kind exchanges, reverse exchanges and other forms of real property transactions
- Planning for workouts and cancellation of indebtedness income
- Structuring corporate mergers acquisitions and dispositions
- Advising clients who operate through “pass-through” entities such as S corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies
- Counseling clients as to issues associated with special allocations, basis limitations and at-risk requirements
